clearcase

All,

I have integrated LV with PVCS, Seapine Software SCC, aand VSS but cannot figure out how to set up SCC with ClearCase. All of the others well very simple.

I select CleaCase from menu but do not know where to point source directory or the project name. I know where the VOB is located (it is already mounted from ClearCase at startup) on the network as well as the path. I give it the folder name for the project and the install comes back and says that it is not a valid project. Do I need a PVOB (Project VOB)?

Others have set it up so I know it is possible but I am new to ClearCase (customer already using it and not interested in using a good SCC) so I would appreciate any assistance.

Any help would be appreciated.

HI Kalin,

Not helpful at all. You pointed me to general description of SCC. I have been using it for 25 years but need specific help for tieing it into Rational ClearCase. ClearCase is a very unique program and doesn't behave at all like any other SCC (PVCS< VSS, Perforce, Seapine SCC, CVS, Subversion and a couple of others) I have ever used.

I either get errors when trying to point to directory and project (i.e. project does not exist) or when trying to Add File to Source Control that the VOB object doesn't exist.

NI supposedly says it is compatible with ClearCase but there is no description of to configure ClearCase under LabVIEW. Maybe NI should put the procedures online for each SCC Tool that they have tried and says is compatible with LV.

Engineering has to have procedures on how to do this. Rational doesn't even know how to spell LabVIEW so they were no help.
