color in jpeg

I am taking a .cma file with a 2-D image (0 to 1024 per pixel) and I would like to save it as a JPEG.  I have done that, but the image is only blue (grey scale, but blue) and I would like to change the color map.  How do I do that?  I want something like white for >1000, 500<red<1000, 250<yellow<125, blue<125.

A .cma file is a database file, right? I'm not sure how you are converting that into a JPEG, but the issue of recoloring a picture has been addressed in these forums before. I've linked the best post I know of here. The short answer is that recoloring JPEGs is not a trivial task at all. You may want to consider the IMAQ toolkit, which does a lot of the hard work for you, or you may want to consider switching to bitmaps.
