I am working on a project, which uses CAN, I/O ports for sensor. I am planning to buy 'compactDAQ' for this.
I want to know whether:-
1. cDAQ can be programmed with Labview, and can it be used without a laptop/PC support, after programming it(i.e. once program is burned in it, will it still need a laptop/PC support to execute the program)?
2. Can cDAQ log data within it, so that after completion of task, I can connect it to PC and get the results?
If not, then please suggest me other NI product which can do these.

I went through this about 3 months ago, it is cheaper to get a laptop and a USB-6361 or USB-6363. However you should check on how fast you need your digital I/O to operate and if there are any vi's that support CAN communications.
I am currently using a USB-6363 with a laptop that is 2 years old and it has no problem.
