connect to non gigE Vision compliant camera

I am trying to get a Silicon Imaging SI1920HD to stream to LabView. The camera is not GigE Vision compliant (though we were initially under the impression that it was) but is on an SI GigE link interface, connected with a CAT5 cable. I am using standard IMAQ VIs and LabView is not detecting the camera (neither is MAX). Any suggestions?

Hi Nasgul,

To interface with a GigE camera, you would actually use the IMAQdx drivers, not the IMAQ drivers.  If the camera is configured properly, it will appear in MAX under Devices & Interfaces -> NI-IMAQdx Devices.  Unfortunately, in this case, since the camera is not GigE compliant, you will not be able to use the IMAQdx drivers with it to stream data into LabVIEW.

I would suggest that you contact the camera manufacturer to see if they themselves make any drivers for interfacing the camera with LabVIEW.

I hope this clears things up.
