could you explain more clearly what you want?

A flow meter measures flow, it does not control the flow.

What do you expect it to do as a function of knob position?

Dear altenbach
Indeed many flow meter need to be calibrate after installing in the place
this calibration done by changing some parameters of flow meter (esp for mechanical flowmeter )
also flowmeter in many application use for controlling flow so they have appropriate Structure to control flow based on flow change
but op should define exactly what kind of flow meter he use and what is the method to connect with this flow meter

The question is about controlling, not calibrating. Once it controls flow it is a mass flow controller, or similar, no longer a "flow meter".

In the title, he talks about a "valve".

In the post, he talks about a "flowmeter".

Who knows what this is all about...?

There is e.g. no information how things (valve, flowmeter) are connected to the computer and possibly to each other.

We don't know if the "knob" a physical knob or a virtual knob control on the LabVIEW front panel.

Is the valve on/off or proportional?

We don't even know if it is gas, liquid, molasses or liquid sodium.... 😄

Instead of speculating, we need to wait for the OP to provide significantly more detail.

It is not worth answering if we don't know the question... 😉
