custom control graphics missing

I just upgraded to LV8 and am having a problem with missing graphics on my custom buttons.  I have multiple instances of the custom control on the front panel, but only one of them shows the desired graphics--the rest of them show a place-holder graphic that looks like a stretched, lower-case "d".

I never had the problem with LV71. 

I created a very little, very simple illustration of the the problem with screenshots.

I should have added that the graphics are missing in the .exe.  It looks fine in the devel. env.

Hi, mochalatte.

When I ran your executable I saw the bad images you described. When I created my own build from your code, however, the custom images appeared on all the buttons as desired. So I have a few question for you:

What OS are you using?
Does the problem occur repeatedly? IE, if you build the application more than once will the same behavior occur?
Does it still occur if you close and reopen LabVIEW?
Has this process ever worked for you in LabVIEW 8.0?
