custom controls stretching on different monitor sizes/resolutions

Hi, I am developing a GUI for a test machine. I am developing the vi on my 17" macbook pro (running windows vista and labview 8.6). The software will be deployed to a computer with a 15" monitor running at 1024*800 or 1280*1024 resolution which is much lower than the widescreen panel on my laptop.

To control the motion of a hydraulic ram I have designed 4 custom control which are simply triangle shaped arrows. I have controls for fast up, fast down, slow up and slow down. When running on my laptop, the controls look fine. When running on the machine's computer, the controls are stretched horizontally. It is not a problem to edit the size of the controls but I do not understand why this is happening.

The controls were produced by pasting gif's from photoshop into the control editor. They are simply boolean controls with one image for on and one for off. I will post an image of them shortly.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, or can someone suggest a method for ensuring this does not happen? It is inconvenient having to adjust them every time I do a new build of the software. I have not tried building the software as an exe and running it on the machine's computer. I will do this tomorrow.

thanks!

Did you set the vi properties to maintain proportions of window for different monitor resolutions?
