daqmx control lockup

If I have a VIs using DAQmx control (device and digital port in this case), and I open up the frontpanel, my LabVIEW will just lock up (after 15 mins I close the app).
Has anyone seen this?

Using LabVIEW 8.5 and DAQmx 8.6.1.
I allready reinstalled DAQmx support for LabVIEW, no cure.

Deleting the MAX database (step 8 in this KB
solves the issue
