In what order did you install LabVIEW and DAQmx?

Have you tried to uninstall DAQmx and reinstall it?

DAQmx 9.4 is not compatible with LabVIEW 2012, which is why you are not seeing it in the palettes.  LabVIEW 2012 requires DAQmx 9.5.5 or later.  This document is helpful to determine DAQ/LabVIEW compatibility.

I installed LV then the drivers.

I tried to uninstall 9. x.x an it said there were other programs ( and it listed them) that also used them.  I was afraid to delete those programs.

I apolgize but I don't have internet access at work yet so I have to come home and reply to the discussion forums.  The unit I have is not on the net either so I can't upgrade to the latest ver of daqmx.

Thanks for the help.

You don't have to uninstall a thing. After you are able to download the latest version, the installer will replace what you have.

OK this is what I did...

I installed Labview...just Labview 2012 from the NI Developer Suite disk 1 of 3.

I then went to the 4th disk ( Device Drivers ...) and installed those.  Both using AUTORUN.

I don't have the NI daqmx pallet or folder any where on my PC.

If I look in MAX under SW it shows:

DAQMX 9.6.0

DAQMX for API 9.6.0

and

DAQMX for MAX 9.6.0

I tried to do a "repair" of DAQMX 9.6.0 by putting the device drivers disk in and hitting the repair button under remove programs of control panel.  It looked like it repaired sucessfully.  DAQMX is still not there in LV.  Where and when does the daqmx driver get installed?? Can I just find that folder on disk and drag it to the correcct local??

When you installed the DAQmx, did you select support for the right LabVIEW version ?

I don't have any pictures, but you have to make sure that you also get the support for the correct LabVIEW version installed at the same time as the driver gets installed.

Go to the block diagram and right click on the screen to bring up the Functions Palette, scroll to the very bottom of this and there is an option for "Change Visible Palettes" select this and make sure "Measurement I/O" is turned on, if this has been disabled by accident the DAQmx options wont be seen on the screen - Mike

The DAQmx files should be located under: "C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\vi.lib\DAQmx". Do you have that folder?

In MAX I can see that I have installed:

NI-DAQmx ADE Support 9.5.5

NI-DAQmx Device Driver 9.5.5

NI-DAQmx MAX Configuration 9.5.5

Could have changed in version 9.6, but I really don't think so. I'll try to upgrade DAQmx in the weekend and let you know.

I went to a machine that has LV2012 on it.  It has a ton more folders in the vi.llb folder than I do on the machine that I'm having trouble.  My pallet on the problem machine is different too.  I guess I missed something during install.  Unfortunately, I'm going to un-install LV2012 and do a complete re-install.  Anyone know of any caveats??

Thanks
