data compression

Dear all,

I am acquiring data an then preforming a sample compression in Labview by a factor of 20 (using the last as the reduction method). The problem is the final signals seems to be different than the initial one, I mean the final one is contaminated with a lot of noise.  Does anybody Knows another technique or another tool to do this compression?

What does the data itself look like? How noisy is it? How fast does it change? What is the signal's dynamic range?
