detection techniques

Hello wuliao23,

When an ROI is chosen on an image, the region includes all the pixels within it. The region can only be increased pixel by pixel both lengthwise and breadthwise; the border line of the ROI will not go 'through' a pixel. Once you set the pixel values outside the ROI to be a constant value, the pixel values within the ROI should remain the same as they were previously.

I hope I had understood your question correctly, and that this helps you out.

Hello wuliao23,

I have attached an image of the block diagram of a VI I setup. This VI enables the user to choose an ROI on an image, and then masks the ROI so as to set all pixels outside the ROI to black. If you need to set a different pixel value from black, you can try playing around with the 'Pixel Manipulation' functions.

I hope this helps.
