Well that is some 6000 miles away from the Netherlands. 😁 Not very practical.
But I'm sure there are some Electronic Engineers in Southern California who are old enough to still know how GPIB worked and how it properly needs to be setup. In my days at NI technical support in the early 90ies of last century, supporting GPIB devices that did not quite operate to the soon to be released new 488.2 standard was pretty standard work. After the millennium change, these kind of devices usually were already delegated to storage rooms or the scrap and GPIB communication was in fact better standardized than for instance serial port communication. Communication on the GPIB API level was soon after that pretty much unseen, as VISA worked a lot better and easier for 488.2 compatible devices.
