different ni max configuration

Hello, All.  I'm using two different Labview 8.5 test programs (one at a time, of course), and they require two different NI MAX configurations (although all of the hardware is in the same slots).  However, it is not working properly.  The NI MAX configurations include both Legacy and DaqMx items.

    If necessary I'll copy much more info here for anaylsis, but I just wanted to ask the general question, "What sequence/actions are necessary when changing from one NI MAX configuration to another - must the PC be rebooted, then NI MAX and Labview brought up in a certain sequence, etc"?

Hey General,

How exactly are you using the configurations?  Are there certain tasks that you are using that differ in each configuration?  Other than that, I can't think of why MAX has any direct impact on LV.

Not sure how to answer your question.  No tasks are related between the two applications.  I just have a general question out there to see if anyone has actually had success using two different NI MAX configurations on the same PC.  Thanks, though.

OK...let me rephrase.  How are you using the .nce file from MAX?  Are you using it in combination with an executable?  It looks like to me that you are using it in the development environment - if the hardware configuration is not changing, how is the MAX configuration file changing?
