Hi Martin,
as said before: all he got was "3" using different kind of string2number conversions. So I concluded that he didn't use the point as decimal separator in his regional settings. The only different regional setting I know of is the German one (using the comma by default) - but maybe it's a slightly different Austrian or Suisse setting?

Thuth is, that you can think of many other localization, mostly in Europe, I believe. I can name few, and I believe there are many more ![]()
- German
- Czech
- Slovak
- Hungarian
- Polish
- French
- Spanish
and I believe many more, that's why I asked about German specifically
This is common problem when people in Europe or Eastern Europe 🙂 try to communicate with GPIB instruments to measure data,you caught it perfectly.
Anyway you have done very good job by answering and solving this thread.
