display true color picture

Dear Sir,

I'm using the read JPEG.vi and Draw Flattened Pixmap.vi to read a jpeg picture. The picture output of the Draw Flattened Pixmap.vi is connect to the Picture Indicator.

However when I load a true-color picture on the Linux, I found that the picture was in 256 color only. So, I would like to know what is my problem?

Or, could you give me a suggestion to do this process on linux. Actually, I would like to read the jpeg pictures on Linux just like a picture viewer.

Also I'm sorry to ask another question maybe off this topic.

I have a problem in displaying the unicode fonts on labview under Linux OS, such as Chinese characters.

I would like to ask when can labview support unicode fonts display?

Thanks
for any help

Eric

Hi
as far as I know, in linux LV is limited to 256 colors for jpg. Try to find details in the manuals. Anyway, probably it's easier to find a image viewer for Linux.

good luck ...

Eric,

I *believe* I have heard of people being able to display 24-bit images in LabVIEW before...I think there is a display setting in Linux somewhere that specifies the default color depth for displaying pictures...I don't know much about Linux...you may want to double-check with a Linux expert to see if this indeed the case.

As for Unicode support, I believe the next version of LabVIEW will support Unicode fonts.

I hope this information helps. Good luck, and have a pleasant day.

Sincerely,
