dsc problem to convert string to SVE

Hi all

I want to convert the string to SVE.

If I use the computer_name: "localhost" all are working.

If I use the computer_name IP my computer : "192.168.0.54" the "ararms out" is empty.

Why?

Hi Iskander,

Localhost = 127.0.0.1, not the IP of your computer which is why you are seeing this discrepancy.

My PC is on a Local Network. And it has the IP 192.168.0.54.

If I write the name my PC I can see the SVE.

If I write the IP=192.168.0.54 instead of a name PC I don't see the SVE.

Hi Iskander,

Are you able to ping that IP using the command prompt? If you open NI Distributed System Manager and right click My Systems then Add System and use the IP address for the name does it show the same processes as the localhost?

I havn't firewall.

I see the same processes in "comp" and in "192.168.0.54" and in localhost in NI Distributed System Manager.

Hi Iskander,

I was able to verify this occurs on 2011 SP1. I am going to do some more tests and will update this thread but for now you can use the computer name as a workaround.
