Hello, I have a BEI encoder with channels ABZ and 2 PCI-6220 cards that need to read the same signal from the encoder to determine position. The encoder has a 5V open collector output with internal pull up resistor but I don't know if it can drive both boards. I don't have the second board so I can't test it so I'll appreciate any help. Thank you

Hi Bertha,
Can you elaborate on the need to use two PCI-6220s? Will the boards be in the same PC? I am unfamiliar with a hardware need to use two DAQ boards for encoder measurements.

Hello, we have a cell that has an old program and we are transitioning from an old computer to a new one with new software but we cannot do the switch abruptly because the cell has to be operational during the transition. I have done this with other vendor boards but not with an NI board and I wasn't sure if it was going to work with the 6220. Thank you

By the way, Do you know the NI part number for the Phoenix connector and cable used on a SCXI 1349 to access the digital channels on the PCI 6220? I don't want a SCXI front panel board like the SCXI 1180 just the ribbon cable and terminal block connector. I have been looking for it for a while. I'll appreciate your help. Thank you

Hi Bertha,
I am somewhat perplexed as to the role of the SCXI 1349 in this setup. It sounds like you are mainly looking for a way to access a breakout connector for the PCI 6220. If that is the case, then I recommend looking toward either the SCB-68 or CB-68LP. The SHC68-68 cable will connect directly from the back of the card to the breakout board giving you full access to the pins. If you are in need of the SCXI interface, then please elaborate on the complete setup so I may have a better understanding- thanks!
