Hello cami,

Please provide more specific information regarding your problem. Which product did you activate? Which instrument cannot be activated?

If you are having some issue with the NI service locator then please refer to this KnowledgeBase.

We have LabVIEW 8.2 activated. It is the confirmation that  is a correct installation.
When we open labVIEW there is the message of error: "Could not find LabVIEW service port from service locator. You will not be able to browse by Directory Structure."
After the cancelling of this message, the Directory Structure appears but we could not activate the instruments from examples (they appears in the instruments list as inactive)
Thank you!

Hello Cami,
Can you provide some screenshots of all the error messages that you are getting? What kind of instruments are you referring to? Are these benchtop instruments that you are trying to connect using LabVIEW..??
It could be possible that NI Service locator is not running on your computer. Try this KB and also try disabling your virus scanner and firewall.

Hello Cami,

For the benefit of other forum users, could you please mention whether it was the KnowledgeBase or disabling the firewall that helped you resolve the issue?

Thanks,

Disabling the firewall helped me to solve the problem. I haven't payed enough attention although there was specified in the installation prescription. Mea culpa!

thank you again!
