event callback function receives no event

Hi

Hope someone can help a newbie...

I am trying to communicate with a COM-object trough the ActiveX functions in LabView 7. When I use the "Invoke Node" everything works as expected, the object does what I ask for.
The problem is the "Register Event Callback" function. If I register for any of the events this object offers, I don't receive anything. The callback VI is never activated even though things are happening that should trig the event.

My question is: Are there any special requirements to the COM-object for this to work? Are there something that can be set up inside the functions in Labview?

I have used the "ActiveX Event Callback for Excel" example as a guide how to do this. The COM-object is made by a coll
eague of mine (I'm not a C-programmer).

I am not real sure about why your activex object is not working, but from your posting it appears that the examples do, correct?

One great test of the control is to try and use it in another programing language. I have tested controls in excel, however I am nto sure how excel handles activex events.

Other than the examples you may want to look at
the LabVIEW Help for the Register Event Callback property node for more information.

The Windows Connectivity Chapter of the LabVIEW User Manual also contains more information on LabVIEW and ActiveX.

I hope these help
