Can you make an exe with labview 6.1 that will open a file when it's double clicked in explorer.
I want to be able to save images with my own extension, and when they are double clicked in explorer my own exe will open and process the image.

It's easier in 7.0 or higher but you can do it with 6.1. Download the file at
http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niepd_web_display.display_epd4?p_guid=B123AE0CBBD5111EE034080020E74861&p_...
and add this to your VI. Then you can associate a specific file extension with your app in the Windows Folder Options>File Types so that double clicking the file will start your app and pass the file name as a parameter.
