executable crashes with error reporting windows using NI-CAN

Hi Wilbur!

Thanks for your file.

I found out that there is nothing to debug - the error occurs before any LabVIEWcode is executed. I also tried your and mine executable on a windows 7 system with only runtime and NI-CAN and it showed the same behaviour as the windows XP system:

Does work on an Windows XP system with LabVIEW (your development system)
Does work on a Windows 7 system with LabVIEW (my development system)
Is erroneous on a Windows XP target system.
Is erroneous on a Windows 7 target system.

I will ask our developers for further advice. To get a first answer will take some days, I will write you as soon as possible.

I am very sorry I cannot give you better news.

Best regards,

Stefan

Hi Wilbur!

I am now in contact with one of our developers. His first impression is that the problem is caused by your development system. He suggested to repair the driver either. Please do so and tell me if it works then.

Hi Stafan,

Thank you very much!

I've reinstalled the LabVIEW which I believe that the LabVIEW should be working properly. But the error is still there.

I will try to update the Device Drivers today, to see if it works.

Another quetion is how to "repair the development system and the drivers"?

Hi Wilbur!

Reinstalling LabVIEW is an appropriate way to repair LabVIEW, i.e. the development system. It also works for your drivers. Another way is to go to

windows start menu --> system controls --> uninstall programmes --> National Instruments - Software --> choose the product and press the "repair" button.

Hi Stefan,

I've updated the Device Drivers and reinstalled the LabVIEW 2010 sp1.

However it seems that it doesn't help.

Have you some advice, which program should I repair since the NI software list has so many things with it!

Best Regards,

Wilbur

Hi Stefan,

in the software list of NI I cannot find an item names "device drivers"

So I've chosen the "NI LabVIEW 2010 Service Pack 1(SP1)" and the "NI System Configuration 1.1.3" and "NI System Configuration 1.1.3 for LabVIEW Support" to repair.

However, it doesn't help.

So which one I should choose to repair?

Best Regards,

Wilbur

Hi Wilbur!

I'm sorry, I see I have not been sufficiently precise. With "drivers" I thought about your CAN drivers. Please repair the NI-CAN 2.7.2.

Hi Stefan,

it still comes with the error after the NI-CAN was repaired.

I've no idea than doing the typical microsoft solution: delete all the components and reinstall.

Wish me luck,

Wilbur

Hi Wilbur!

Some days ago you tried to completely reinstall the system. What happened after? Did it solve the problem?

Best regards,

Stefan
