Hi lsereau,

unfortunately i can´t say why you get the error, but maybe you can upload your vi and someone can try to save it for 8.2 for you.

Hope it helps.

Hi, Isereau,
If this problem repeatable, and you get this message every time, then do following: remove some parts of the code step by step and try to save to 8.2 until this message goes away. So, you can isolate the part of the code which caused trouble. Then you can save your VI to 8.2 without this part and then recreate this part in LabVIEW 8.2 again from scratch (and don't forget to sent this problematic part to NI with bug report).
Also you can attach your VI here as Mike mentioned, so we can play with it too.
Andrey.

Hi Isereau,

This was reported to R&D (# 40808) for further investigation.  However, in the past it has not been reproducible.  Any additional information you can provide, especially your code or error log files, would be very useful.

Do you see the same error with any LabVIEW 8.5.1 VI that you try to save for a previous version?  Andrey's suggestion about isolating portions of the code is good advice.

Please feel free to post again with more details so we can help.

Thanks for the help, I just started taking out sub vi's until it worked, and then put them back after the save.

I have the same problem, trying to save a FPGA vi using the Duplicate Hierachy feature.  This seems to be repeatable in LV8.5.

cheers

Hi timpy,

Thanks for the feedback.  I also get the error when trying to save the hierarchy in LabVIEW 8.5.1, but not in LabVIEW 8.6.  If you would like me to test your particular project in 8.6, I would be happy to.

Also, anyone monitoring the issue of saving for a previous version may want to track CAR #44420, which is more recent than CAR #40808 that I previously reported.

I have this same issue in 8.5 when I try to "Save As" and copy the files and all the dependencies to a different folder and under a different project name...  I can compile the files and run the programs just fine.  Is there another method to make sure I get all the interdependencies copied manually???

Hello,

Are you getting this error when you are going to "Save-As" and saving a project to the same version of LabVIEW just as a different name? Unfortunately, I am not quite sure I understand your question at the end of your post.

Hope this helps.

I am saving a project in the same version, but basically to another location on the hard drive as a backup.
