frequency mesuring

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to measure the frequency of a moving object (it moves in one direction, up and down). I'll try recognizing the object like it says here: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Position-tracking-of-a-specific-color-using-webcam/m-p/1520312/highl...

but after this how do I analyse the video? is it posible to do this in real time (while the webcam is filming)?

Right off hand it seems like over-kill to go to that much trouble if all you want to know is how fast something is going up and down. What is it that you are trying to do?

Hi mike,

It's a part of a wave experiment. I need to know the frequency, amplitude and speed of the machine while doing the experiment.
It might seem alot but it will make the data analysis easier
