There are some properties that are not supported in the run-time. If you would post your code or provide the property that is throwing the error, it would help.
Also, when you build an exe, you can change the default setting to not run when opened. With some versions of 8.x (I don't remember exactly which, this was broken. I believe this was fixed but I'm not sure it's something that should have been fixed.
