how can i change the control in LabView from MS Powerpoint?

i have a VI that can display data in Excel, I want to ask how can i change the data in my VI without oppening LabView. Instead, i will change the data using Excel.

Ahh...yes...actually changing the Labview data via powerpoint is a different matter....although it's probably possible using DDE. But, as you've discovered, there are several available Activex tools for writing and reading from Excel.
However,...I think no matter how you interact between the applications, Labview has to be running at some level. I don't know how you can change a control on it without it running. Is there any problem with running Labview in the background?
