how do I remove a USB device from the resources list?

I have duplicate devices and would like to remove the duplicates.  Also, I need use an alias on a device but NI-Max is still seeing this alias associated with a similar device (different serial number) even though it is not in the list of USB resources.

Open MAX and select Tools>NI-VISA>VISA Options. Under My System>General Settings, select Aliases.
