how to connect usb camera with Labview??

hi,
I use a wireless camera with usb receiver ( usb adapter ) , and I started with NI-IMAQ USB Driver Guide,
the guide asks for launching Vision Assistant and select  Acquire Image
, but, I got  message  "The settings for this camera are not valid". ??

I do not know what to do?

Can anybody help me, please?

Note : the camera works with another program.

thanks,

Hello NooR,

There are a couple of things you might want to check regarding the compatibility of your USB camera with NI software.  Is your camera Direct Show compliant?  Are you trying to acquire from multiple cameras?

Also did you check that you meet the system requirements that are listed on the IMAQ for USB page (Windows 2000/XP, LabVIEW 7.0 or higher AND NI Vision 7.1 or higher, etc.)?

Another thing to check since the NI-IMAQ for USB driver communicates with the Direct Show Filter of the camera's driver which uses localized strings, if you are on a foreign OS this may be the origin of the issue.  For more information about how to determine what the localized string is, and how we can add support for other OSes to the driver, please see the thread below:

I hope this helps,

NooR,

Typically in the camera's user manual there will be some information regarding either Direct Show compliance or using Direct Show Filter.  If you are unable to find it, I would also suggest contacting the manufacturer directly.
