how to find a

maybe that's a stupid question:

I've a function I would like to use in the help section but I do not know where to look for it in
the function palette.

Why is there no hint in the help function *where* I can find the function?

Or is there somewhere something like that??

Thanks
Urs

Click on the "Table of content" tab on the left, in the help window, and
check the path of it. It's the same as the palette path.

Sorry, my problem description was not very good, I'm afraid.
The problem is:
I've found a great new function in the help menu and I want to use it now in my new VI.
I want to get from the funtion palette, but I do not know where to look for it.

Other software does mention the category / pedigree of the functions, so it is easier to find....

Best Regards
Urs

Once you know the name of the VI you can use the search function in LabVIEW to find the VI you are looking for. Simply tack down the function palette and select the search button. You can then type in the name of the VI and it will show you the location of that VI on the functions palette.

Blimpie boy,
thanks for the hint.
To state this more correctely:
This feature is new , I think LV greater 6.
The feature works only when the palette is open permanentely ( nailed with the top left needle)
Thanks
