how to keep track of your program execution time length?

My dialog box asks for a numeric (orange), not for a string (pink). The output is a DBL, while the FOR loop expects an I32. Thus the coercion.

oh i see...it's jus the difference between the versions i guess

THe prompt user is an express VI. Simply double-click it and you can select what kind of data you want (look on the right side!).
