Hello,

We do not provide drivers to interface with webcams, but there are several third party toolkits that allow you to access webcams from LabVIEW. Please refer to the post by Enrique in the following thread to get the links for those toolkits: Capture images in labview using wireless webcam (D-Link DCS-1000W).

Or if there is an ActiveX interface or DLLs available to control your webcam, then you can call them from LabVIEW. The ActiveX functions are located at All Functions->Communication->ActiveX palette, and you can call DLL functions using the Call Library Function Node from All Functions->Advanced palette.

Good luck with your application!

Hey - I know for a fact that there is a NI project that allows access to a webcam for IMAQ applications. This software saved us so much for development of a simple part presence detector.

you can get the software here http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/274A74A901399D0486256F32007295F9

hmmm,

OK - most of the cameras have software that when you press the button the image gets saved into a directory.
you would need to have labview watch that directory-when a new image comes in then you process it and remove the original

my logitech webcams saves the image to mydocuments/mypictures/logitechpictures
