hysteresis calculation

Hi,

I have Load vs Displacement data.I'm computing the delta value  of hystersis at different position of loads.
To describe my prog a bit
Im calculating Hystersis of my disp values at differenet levels of Load(Attached picture may give more idea).

I'm calculating hysteresis thru Linear fit.vi. & i obtain hystersis data most times correctly.

But sometimes when i calculate hysteresis at max% of Load(maybe say 85- 90%),the coordinates i obtain are
totally drastic in compare to what i should get.Im not sure why this happens?

For ex:In picture attached, the coordinate points i had marked for a value  around 10,000 are supposed to be -5 & -4.
& hystersis should fall around value of 1.but this doesn't happen all times and my hystersis values shows some some invalid value say 6 or 7.

Let me know is there any other way to perform  hysteresis computaion

Thanks

i used to do the same thing with rockwell collins..
find hysteris of an elevator feel unit, a wheel column unit..
i didnt know how to do it then, but i think if i would to do it now..i would find all values for X.
search for the max of X values
get the Y values for from X values and take the difference of two values.

you will do the same with min X values
