It is not an icon, but a "property node". Get it from the palette and wire a reference to a waveform chart to it. See how far you get.

Another wat to get to the property node go to the block diagram and press Ctrl+Space and type in "Property Node". The link has more information on how to use them.

If you found this object on a snippet, is it likely that it got inserted by the snippet mechanism and the actual code could be much simpler. Where did you find this graphics?

Well, it is either working or it is not working, there is no grey zone. It should be easy to tell when running the VI.

Yes, I see your point. I am going to insert this part to my vi, then see what is happening. I have some wuestions but I will wait till it works.
