i would like to make image compression but i would like the user to input his own image not restricted him to two or three pictures as in the program found in labview examples "compression with DCT"

sorry i forgot to say that this image is stored on a file on my hard disk

Hi rasha,

you can read your image from your harddisk, use the available functions for it. You only need to create the 2d array, you can use the "Unflatten Pixmap.vi" for it.
