im "trying" to use IMAQ SNAP.

i know this is a real novice question, but what should the input be for the IMAGE IN terminal?

is it a reference for a file, say BMP?

im really not sure

Yes, you need to create an Image for that with the "IMAQ Create.vi". Attached you will find a screenshot of the function and how to wire it.
