.inf file problem

I am using LabView 6i and have a new problem that popped up out of the blue.

Every time I try and install a standalone executable I get the error message "can't find installation script file *.inf"

I have been installing these VERY SAME installation files onto machines for the past 2 years with no problems at all (they are on my server)... now I can't make my install files work on any machines!

Anyone know what gives? I am about ready to pop a vein here!

Chris,
If those new machines are Win2000, make sure you have admin rights when you are installing the executable.
Using long filenames could cause a similar error. When creating any folders, make sure that the folder name is not too long and does not have any spaces.
Also try copying over all the files from the cd to the hard drive, and start the install from there.
If none of this helps, you may need to recompile the program and making a new exe.

None of the machines are 2000... they are all running 98 and have been running labview standalone applications all along.

I have tried re-building the code into a new exe file but to no avail... I liked your idea about copying the installer files to the hard drive but that didn't work either.

I also tried re-installing the 6.0.2 patches into my main development computer. I managed to get one good program out then the same thing started happening all over again.

This makes no sense at all and would be a lot easier to figure out if only one machine was doing it... but all of my platforms are having the same exact result. Are there any known bugs in the installer made by labview 6i?
