You could have just said: "Load any version VISA driver. There arn't any incompatibilities with the versions of MAX or Instrument drivers that I know of."

Chill out.
All along you were talking about DAQ drivers. And the decision was DAQmx vs. traditional DAQ. Dennis told you what you needed to do.
1. Load the traditional DAQ drivers to work with the old code
2. Load the DAQmx drivers and rewrite your code to use them.
He gave you the options and you always felt the need to argue the opposite point or just weren't listening to what he said.
Then suddenly at the last minute you switch to talking about VISA drivers which have nothing to do with DAQ drivers!
