I am controlling two different GPIB instruments in my experiment. Do I need a separate Instrument IO Assistant for each instrument?

I wouldn't use the instrument assistant at all but if you insist on using it, yes, you need at least 2 - one for each VISA resource.

Are you sure the instruments don't have an existing driver?
