is SIAUDIT AUDIT32.EXE part of NI software activation?

after reinstalling NI LV7.1 I notice there is now an 'audit32.exe'
running on startup, apparently scanning my installed software and
building a database. it is running out of c:\siaudit\

is this part of the NI activation scheme?

I cant find many refs to this on google, other than it is a 3rd party
app for auditing installed software.

if it is used by NI, can I disable it?

it seems to hog the cpu for a good while after startup.

I tried to do a search for audit32.exe and I could not find it on my computer.  I have 6i, 7.1.1 and LV 8.0 installed on my computer.  I also could not find the folder that you specified.

Is it possible that maybe your IT department installed that on your computer to keep track of what programs are installed??  You also might want to try uninstalling/removing it or moving it to a new location and see if it affects anything.
