labview 8.0 hangs during start

Hmm.  This line in the ini is the last font used for labels on front panel.  Default is "0" 13, and is listed like:

FPFont="0" 13

This tag isn't in the ini file if you are using the default fonts.  What is supposed to happen is that the font name is in quotes while the font size appears to the right of the quotes.  I changed my Panel fonts and got

FPFont="Century Gothic" 18

Did you change the front panel font?  If so, what did you change it to so that I might reproduce the problem. 

I put you values in my ini file and got the same hang you did.

I did change the front panel font on some of my VI's to 18 pt. bold.  However, the font listed under Tools, Options, Fonts is still the default of Application font style, 13 pt, plain.

When you go to Tools>>Options>>Fonts, there are 2 selections at the bottom to choose from: Use default font, and Custom font. 

On your system, is yours set to Use default font for Application Font, System Font, and Dialog Font?  You will have to change to each of these fonts using the ring control at the top of the dialog.  When you choose the Font Type for any of these fonts, you are given the option of modifying the font for each type (App, Syst, Dialog), and also setting wether you selection is the default for the front panel. 

When/if the problem happens again, it would be good to know if you did anything with the fonts just before the problem occurred. 

I have alos asked our support to find out what would cause the incorrect font setup.

On my system, Use Default Font is set for Application, Dialog and System.

I just ran into this same problem, and editing the .ini file fixed it. All I added a was 0 between the empty quotation marks to get things running.
This problem occurred after changing the application font size in the Font Dialog panel.

Hello all..

Iam very frustrated at this point...

I have the same exact problem but in LV 8.2, I can load any blanck VIs and anyother VIS but some of one of my aplication.

i see the spash windows, when i run LV and everything is find, now if I try to run a specific.vi aplication it hangs in the middle of the loading process.

I already did the deletion of the .ini file, and it solved the problem (this was yesterday) [I saved a copy of both bad/good .ini] sadly, i cant find it now.

So today I tried to do the same thing deleting the .ini file but it didnt help, it still hangs. so Iam stuck completly, because the backup .ini are nowhere to be found.

please help!....
