labview 8.6 camera image acquire

I have LabVIEW 8.6 along with NI Vision Assistant (8.6 and 8.5). I want to trigger a usb or firewire camera to capture snaps into labview using an external signal captured by a SCB-68 via a NI PCI-6221 card. Then measure the area of a particle and make a grpah of the value for each snap taken and wait for the next trigger singal to repeat the whole process.

What I have been able to do:-

       1. Use NI VIsion 8.6 to measure the area of the desired particle.

       2. Capture the external singal into LabVIEW 8.6.

Following are the problems I face:-

1. My firewire camera is detected by the Measurement and Automation Explorer but the USB camera is not.

2. NI Vision 8.5 captures images from both the USB and firewire camera but NI Vision 8.6 captures only the USB camera and I need to use the 8.6 so that I can create a VI for LabVIEW   8.6.

3.  I have installed the "NI-IMAQ for USB" but am not able to see any USB camera related VI in the labview "control" window of LabVIEW 8.6. The "NI-IMAQ for USB USER Guide" says they should be there.

4. I can't find any VI related to Firewire camera image acquiring.

5. How to make the graph.

Help!

I'm able to capture images from the USB and Firewire camera only in NI Vision and not in Labview. A documentation states that I should see the VI's given in the attached picture, but my Labview doesn't show them. And its the same for firewire.

I think my question now is, does the option in the picture I attached before appear if I don't have any specific NI USB camera or PCI card attached to my PC?

It has got nothing to do with your available hardware that includes your camera and ur frame grabber.

Ok, now back to the original problem, I don't see these options in the attached pciture in my LabVIEW. Altough I have installed the USB IMAQ driver also.

Well, the USB one is a webcam. The Firewire camera is a DFK31BF03 by ImagingSoucre.
