Wow, Chris, I'd never noticed that in all my years of fiddling legends. Perhaps I always end up stacking then vertically? But, great catch.

A much better design would have the style to the left of the plot name. It would look better in vertical or horizontal, IMHO. Unfortunately I had no input in the late eighties when this got cast in stone. 😄

Actually, the elements can easily be rearranged in the control editor!

This doesn't work for me if I update the name of the plot. Just after customization:

This seemed to happen with or without the visibility checkbox. Did you see any way to "maintain order" with the items in the legend? Also... any way to add a gap between items?
I have a VI with some horizontal legends whose length can change at runtime. I've been fighting these daggum legends for forever 🙂

Sorry, I did not really play with it in detail, so maybe it's not a viable solution. I'll do some tests....
