Bo,

there is also something called vi player thats available for free, you can
download it from ni.com. I haven't used it, but I believe it allows people
without labview to run vi's if they download the player. if you want a exe
file though, you do need application builder.

LabVIEW Player has some limitations that must be known if you plan to use
it. Here is a notice I received from NI about LV Player. You can look at the
following page for more information about it:

http://www.ni.com/labview/lv_player2.htm

Hope that helps.

The communication abilities of LabVIEW Player VIs are limited to file I/O
and DataSocket client operations
(publishing and subscribing, but no server capabilities). All data needs to
be simulated because data acquisition,
VISA, GPIB, and serial I/O functions are not supported in LabVIEW Player
VIs. Similarly, the LabVIEW Player will
not invoke ActiveX Automatio

Hi Bo,

What you want to do is exactly possible by Application builder,
able to be loaded by project(main menu)>>create application.
If you cannot see "create application" on the menu, you need to
install Application builder for your purpose. Hope to help.

Thanks,
Tom

As best as I can remember, LabVIEW support for Windows 3.x was dropped when
version 5 came out. Even when it was supported, I think you had to have a
separate app builder.

Bo,

I have not experienced in Win3.1 or 3.11 yet, but they
are involved in capable operating systems as description
in "os.dat" file, at APPLIB\installs\RunTime. You need
not worry about avalilability I think.

Thanks,
Tom

Depends on your version of LabVIEW. Versions 2.1 through to 4 came in
flavours to run under Win3.x. Unfortunately versions 5 or greater do not
support EXE's that will work under earlier versions of windows (such as
3.x).
