There is a separate forum board for people needing code to be converted between versions.

Hello,

Since the Spartan3e is an Academic only target, you have free access to our Support department (all students do). I recommend contacting them (ni.com/ask), and request that they send you the 2011 version of the driver.

Cheers!

Yeah, the conversion boards won't work in this case since the problem is that old versions of the Spartan3e driver aren't available online once a new one releases. The Spartan3e driver is roughly equivalent to NI-RIO in this case, and is not VIs but DLLs.

Cheers!

Well, my first thought is that you are running into the same issue as here: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/spartan-3e-amp-Labview-2011/td-p/1654022/

To quote myself:

"You should be able to find it (even without one attached) by creating a new empty project. From there, right-click on the "My Computer" option, and select new->Targets and Devices. From there, hit the radio button for New target or device and browse down to the Xilinx University Program folder to find the Spartan-3e Starter Board. I've attached a picture below to complement these instructions."

Cheers!

i did the same way  but there is no xup folder showing  in my labview.is there any other option ? is it like that they have not released spartan 3e  xup drivers for  labview 2011,but they have labview  2012 drivers and not for 2011.

Hmm...

You said you installed the 2011 driver that you got from support, and it didn't report any errors right? Try navigating in the control panel to Programs and Features ->National Instruments Software (double click this item). When the modify/repair/remove window comes up, look for "NI LabVIEW 2011 SP1 FPGA Support for Spartan 3E" (or something very similar). Is it there?

Does the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\Targets\NI\FPGA\XUPSpartan3E" exist on your computer?

What is the version listed in the installer that you ran? I believe it should be 4.2.

Cheers!

Edit to my above post:

The above folder path should be for 2011, not 2012, and may be slightly different if you are on a 32-bit os.
