limitation of the LabView

Hello, I am a new Lanview user. And I'm using version 7.1 right now. Right now I download a labtracer 2.0 from the webpage of keithly company to control their sourcemeter G2410. I use the labtracer2.0 to get I-V data. I want to know the limtations of the labview program. For example:how fast can the program record the signals? How much noise will be detected due to cable configurations? etc. Please send me an email if you know the answer. My email: whuang2@bigred.unl.edu
Thanks  very much!

Most likly th limitation will not be labview but bandwith bottlenecks.  Limitations will be with getting data into the system which debends on the communication bus for data acquisition which ranges from Serial (kb/sec) upto PCIe which is fast approcahing GB/sec.  In terms of analysing and presenting data there is often not a limitation since the PC can process data at unreal rates.  What exactly are you trying to do?

Labtracer is a program by Keithley and has nothing to do with LabVIEW. I believe all it requires is a GPIB board from either Keithley or NI. If you want to use LabVIEW, then you would start with a LabVIEW driver. Unfortunately, the only driver from NI is for version 8.0 or higher. I think Keithley has either a LabVIEW or IVI driver that you can use with LabVIEW. I have seen example programs on Keithley's web site that you may be able to use as is or modify. Questions on wiring up the Keithley should be directed to Keithely. That sort of thing has nothing to do with LabVIEW either.
