lktsrv.exe and niLxiDiscovery.exe errors during shutdown

I have a demo tomorrow, and I think all the HW drivers I need should be on the install disks.  But I would like confirmation of that.  The cards we have in the PXI are - PXI-8360, pxi-4071, pxi-2527, pxi-2566, pxi-6251 & pxi-6509.  Are all these are the install disks?  Thanks.

Hi Bill,

After discussing some things with a few colleagues, instead of an uninstallation and reinstallation, a forced reinstallation would be a better option. It should not take as much time and will effectively do what we are wanting. Also, with respect to the drivers, the documentation I am finding indicates that the proper drivers should be on the discs. However, you can also go to www.ni.com/downloads to download the specific drivers you need if you do not find them on the discs. The three links below show the driver compatibility charts for LabVIEW and the drivers associated with your products.

NI-DAQ

NI-Switch

NI-DMM

Hi Thomas,

I'm back on this.  So how do I do a forced reinstallation?  Just insert the DVD and do an install?  thanks.

I inserted our LV 9 DVD's and reinstalled LV and some drivers. But it said the following already had newer versions and would not install over them. These were the NI-VISA 4.6.2, NI PXI Platform Services 2.5.3, NI Spy 2.7.1, & NI MAX. So after reinstalling the other parts, I restarted and went through 6 shutdowns, and on the sixth shutdown, the memory could not be read error popup occured. Though strangely it was from an Agilent exe. I tried to remove those drivers, it asked to remove a lot of dependent drivers. So should I remove these 4 and everything that depends on them or just uninstall everything and reinstall everything? Or would both be fine? Thanks.

Hi Bill,

It sounds like the installation you performed may have done what we were hoping. Do you know what the Agilent .exe is doing and what it is for? Is there a specific error code being reported?

I would be hesitant to continue pursuing changes to LabVIEW and other NI software/hardware for the time-being, since it appears not to be what is currently causing an error. It seems like the lktsrv.exe and niLxiDiscovery.exe errors during shutdown are no longer the issues we are facing, though if they do crop back up, we will consider our options.

Hi Thomas, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling LV and the drivers.  After restarting it 12 times, I had no errors.  So hopefully that fixed it.  Thanks for all your help.
