I recently uninstalled Office 2007 on Win XP while preparing to upgrade to a new version of Office. After I uninstalled and cleaned my registry per the Microsoft article, I started getting an error in lktsrv.exe on Windows shutdown. Unfortunately, I was not able to write down the hex codes associates with the error, but the first one started with 0x79.
After searching around a bit, I found lktsrv.exe is associated with NI Logos. I went into Add/Remove Programs and went to the National Instruments Software entry. I didn't find an entry associated with Logos, but I did find NI TDM Excel Add-In 3.3. Taking an educated guess since I removed Office, I selected this entry and clicked Repair. I have shut down several time with no errors since doing the repair.
I don't know if anyone else has run into this issue, but hopefully it helps someone (or me if I get into this situation again...).
