load worksheet generator office menus

Hi,

I am having trouble getting my excel and word specific worksheet generator menus to show on the Functions Palatte.
I have tried a complete re-install of LV and WS Gen. I can see the general worksheet gen vi's, but none of the MS Office ones. The lib's have been loaded into the National Instruments menu and I can access them through explorer or using the 'select vi'.
Any thoughts on how I can get LV to correctly load these?
I am using LV 7 and worksheet gen 1.01

What do you mean by Worksheet Generator? Are you talking about the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office?

If you are talking about this, is it installed in the correct directory? I have had similar trouble by forgetting to set the install location to be my present LabVIEW directory and having it install in a previous LabVIEW.

If you are talking about a different package, does it need the Report Generation Toolkit for MS Office in order to work?

I think that you have the toolkit, but that it is installed in the wrong location. This would lead to the libraries being on your computer, but since the menus are not in the correct place, the libraries will not be in the palette.

"Are you talking about the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office?"

Yes.

Im not sure which directory it has to be installed, but at the moment it is situated in:
National Instruments\Labview 7.0\vi.lib\addons\_office
Does this seem like the correct location?

Yes, this seems like the correct location assuming that is where your LabVIEW is installed. While it has installed the VIs, it seems to not have installed the palette menu. Most of these files are located at LabVIEW 7.0\menus\default. Since there are already report VIs on the palette, it backs up that menu and then replaces it with the one that has the MS Office VIs. This is a file called repdocs.mnu. The backup is called repdocs.bkp. For some reason that has not happened for you.

Try to uninstall it and then reinstall it. If that doesn't work, try searching your hard drive for repdocs.mnu and repdocs.bkp and make sure that they are in the correct place.

I missed some menu files.

htmlrep.mnu
nirepadv.mnu
nireplay.mnu
nireport.mnu

Thes should each have a .mnu and a .bkp after a successful install.

Sorry about that.

Thanks Robert. I looked for the files you listed, and they are all in the default menu folder. The only thing I noticed was that ALL the menu's are designated as AutoCADLT menu Template.
Have you ever heard of LV having problems running on a PC with AutoCad installed on the same local drive?

thanks again.
