I just tried using the MAX thing to make a Task to wire into the create Channel DAQmx VI and now my thing is not working because I havent wired the physical channel connector.... If the channels are specified in the task why do they need selecting again ?

Dont need the virtual channel creator any more, just the start DAQmx task and wire the task in. Bingo!
