lv8.2 continuous sound input has a serious bug in it.

The Continuous Sound Input example vi has a very serious bug in it that reflects a deep problem with the new 8.2 version of lvsound.dll. Try setting up the configuration for a sample rate of 8000, the number of read samples to 800 and 1 channel. On my system this causes a timeout error. If you run the same example in LV8.0 it works perfectly.

Hi,

I ran the Continuous Sound VI with these settings and everything worked fine without timeout error in LabVIEW 8.2.

I just ran the continuous sound input example again to make sure and it definitely does not work correctly on my machine. Make sure that the number of channels is set to 1 (mono) as opposed to 2 (stereo). For some reason it works fine in stereo but not mono. BTW, I have a Creative Labs Audigy 2ZS sound card in my computer.

Hi,

I tested the VI again without error on two different machines with LabVIEW 8.2 using this configuration ( Device ID=0, Number of Samples/ch =800, Sample rate =8000, number of channels=1, bits per sample =16). I will suggest you run the VI on another machine.
