make winxp go into/ come out of standby

I would like to enter standby and come out of standby using a vi. I think it may be possible with activex or passing messages to the command prompt. Has anybody tried something like this? Does such an activex object exist?

If the computer has wake on lan support I would go with it. There are applications available to wake the computer. http://www.depicus.com . This site has both DLL and activex.

To go into standby, you might try windows script. You can use labview vi to launch the scrip file through activeX calls. Or you can try this commandline application. Or you can use the labview windows utility VI.
